Indication:
Malafantrine (Artemether/Lumefantrine) Tablets are indicated for the treatment of acute, uncomplicated malarial infections due to Plasmodium falciparum resistant to both chloroquine and sulphadoxine-pyrimethamine combination in patients of 5 kg body weight and above. Malafantrine tablets have been shown to be effective in geographical regions where resistance to chloroquine has been reported.
Limitations of Use: Malafantrine tablets are not approved for patients with severe or complicated P. falciparum malaria. Malafantrine tablets are not approved for the prevention of malaria. The combination is not recommended for first line treatment of malaria.
Dosage Forms:
Each film coated tablet contains Artemether 20mg + Lumefantrine 240mg.
